i've been a miner for a heart of gold

I have been on a blogging/tweeting hiatus for the past few weeks because I was at my friends time share in Hawaii and then off to Comic-Con. I'm so cool, right?

Anyways, my grandmother's birthday is coming up so I figured I would buy her something. She likes these ultra hip Dr. Scholls shoes from Haband! and so I figured, why not. HOWEVER, while on the website I stumbled upon this Lace Blazer and was like, "Oh my god." I bought it in white and it totally looks like something that could come from the 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort Collection! Which kind of creeps me out because it's a store meant for the more experienced in age. I wore it already and trust me, when styled looks nothing like the lady in the photo. I styled it taking inspiration from this Chloe Sevigny outfit.

Anyways, here are some of my most recent buys.

I tried on the Lace Bodysuit at AA but because of my height it was too short and the size bigger gave me a diaper butt.

PS: There is a pretty sweet studded wool blazer at Express! It's way out of my budget but for those of who are too lazy to DIY and can afford I suggest checking it out.

YSL has it, Stella has it, Now I have it.

I caved and purchased a jumpsuit. I've been looking for a wedding outfit for the past 2 weeks with no luck. I am sure it has to do with my location; vintage stores or even a well stocked H&M is harder to find than a needle in a hay stack when you're in The San Fernando Valley, cue the cringes. The wedding is mid August which gives ample time for shipping this guy from ASOS. The sequins are the a flat matte kind so it gives it a "wet" look plus I sort of adore the shoulder padding on this.

I'm going to be hitting up the Nordstrom Anniversary sale either today or tomorrow to see if I can find shoes to go with it. However, THIS just arrived at my house back in SF so I always have a back up.

**EDIT**
So the Anniversary Sale had no good shoes but I did find a super mark down pair of these High Waisted Zipper Alexander Wang Skinny Jeans for like $80! They are amazing, the zipper goes all the way up!

I am adoring Phillip Lim's Resort collection. The mixture of antique lace, lamé, and patchwork is chic beyond words. It almost reminds me of sexy lingerie, especially with the more neutral pallet.

I can resist everything except temptation

I could really use a lace crop top right now. The ensembles seem so infinite at this point.

Note to self: buy a flesh tone swimsuit. Probably the closest to naked one could get on a public beach.

Where The Models At?

Remember the supermodels of the 80's and 90's? Gorgeous bombshells splattered on the covers of Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, etc. Twiggy, Claudia, Cindy, Kate, Linda, Christy and more. What happened to them? I feel like most of the younger generation, excluding this community, has filtered out the original intentions of a fashion magazine and so in order to advertise to a broader audience we get Miley. I am sorry, but I am just crawling in my skin to see this. It is nothing against the girl, I actually have a strange addiction to "The Climb". If an average Elle reader is between 16 and 30 I doubt that we will be picking up an issue. Or we might just to see what the hell they were thinking. (However, I will see she looks far more becoming with a shorter hair than fake extensions.)

Shoe Fetish

**EDIT** I got several e-mails as to where I found the Cage heels. And so for any future questions, I found them HERE.

I've got a thing for discount shoes.

I'm visiting LA right now, I'm staying the Valley with some friends so being the huge MJ fan that I am (Michael Jackson, not Marc Jacobs. Although I am a fan of him too!) I signed up for the Staples Center raffle tickets in hopes of maybe be repaid for my GENUINE MJ spirit. The lucky few who won the drawing are suppose to hear about it today between 11AM and 6PM yet so far, no such luck.

In other news.... I recently broke a beloved pair of tan Oxford cut outs. The glorious shoes met their match on the cement sidewalks. Thanks mom for making me walk the dogs. Anyone know where I can find a sweet pair in LA under $30?

GLASTONBURY

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A true showcase of person style was displayed at Glastonbury. It's always refreshing to see how uniquely people dress at festivals or other events where Chloe wedges and Balmain aren't considered casual attire. One style which was mirrored throughout was the harmony of florals and hardware a sort of flower power meets hells angels, don't you think? I love the way the two juxtapose each other. My favorite look was the crop lace tank with light wash shorts and ultra distressed, mangy leather boots.
